DESMI Ro-Clean A/S (DRC) started life more than 30 years ago when both DESMI and ROULUNDS FABRIKER (Roulunds) started developing equipment for oil spill response. DESMI (founded in 1834) concentrated on pumps and skimmers while ROULUNDS concentrated on containment boom systems. As the two dynamic companies, DESMI and ROULUNDS, were the only Danish companies in the oil spill response business, it became obvious to merge the two divisions as the product ranges were complementary.

In 1996 RO-CLEAN DESMI A/S was established, creating todays company. Since 1996 the company has grown rapidly, and in 2005, DESMI took over 100% ownership. The company is now named DESMI Ro-Clean A/S, in line with the DESMI Group strategy “One Global Company.”

In 2008, DRC merged with the American company APPLIED FABRIC TECHNOLOGIES Inc (AFTI), which has enabled DRC to provide a wider range of products and services, as well as a local manufacturing , to better serve the North American customers.

DRC is among the market leaders in the oil spill response business and has today 8 branch offices and is well represented in more than 70 countries.
